Updated: Jan 18, 2023

Guys, I'm not sure why it's taken me 3 years to design a cardigan, but I finally did it and I'm overjoyed with the results.

ABOUT

When designing this cardigan, I knew I wanted it to be simple yet special. I wanted something that wouldn't go out of "style". Something I could wear with anything at any time. And I believe I did just that!

The Point Sal Cardigan is a classic, circle yoke layer that can easily be thrown over any outfit for any occasion. It features unique ribbing, is overloaded with woven-like texture, and is entirely seamless! Plus, thoughtful rows are added in the back so you have the perfect fit around your neck.

As usual, the pattern offers easy to follow instructions with color coded sizes and diagrams to help you along the way!

CONSTRUCTION

The Point Sal Cardigan is worked from the top-down. You'll start by working the yoke and body in rows and then work the sleeves in continuous rounds.

SIZES & MEASUREMENTS

XS (S, M, L, XL) (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X)

PIN IT NOW. MAKE IT LATER!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

YARN: 1055 (1135, 1185, 1310, 1520) (1680, 1880, 2160, 2245) yards of Cotton Jeans by Lion Brand Yarn for 3/4 sleeves (Great substitutions include: Coastal Cotton by Loops & Threads, Lofti DK by KnitCrate, Comfy Cotton by LBY, or any DK weight yarn)

BEHIND THE NAME

This cardigan is named after a place very close to my heart. Point Sal in Guadalupe California.

It's where Kyle (my husband) and I both saw and touched the Pacific Ocean for the first time. It's where we saw wild seals for the first time. It's where our favorite local hike was. It holds so many dear memories and for some odd reason this magical place is all I could think about when I tried on the finished cardigan. (Probably because I miss it so much and I know I'd wear it all of the time there?!)

TESTERS

These testing troopers worked SO hard on this pattern, guys! They stitched and frogged and then stitched and frogged some more. This test taught me how to design a top down garment for ALL sizes and I'm indebted to them for that. They were so incredibly kind, patient, and understanding during the entire process and I'm so grateful for them. 🖤

Gorgeous, right?! So, what are you waiting for? Grab the pattern today by clicking your preferred shop below.

P.S. There's a mini version available, too! If you plan to get both the adult and mini patterns, head to Ravelry and use code: MINIANDMEPOINT to get both for just $10!

Happy making, my friends❤
